    Hey there,

    I am trying to change the position of the category description, but so far no luck.

    Ideal Case

    In the best case scenario I would like to be able to insert text above and below the products. If that isn’t possible text below the products is the next best thing.

    I tried overwriting archive-product.php within a child template so I could move do_action( 'woocommerce_archive_description' ); around, but that doesn’t work cause “not be able to override the woocommerce/archive-product.php custom template as woocommerce.php has priority over archive-product.php.”

    I also tried to add some code to child template functions.php

    add_action('woocommerce_archive_description', 'custom_archive_description', 2 );
    function custom_archive_description(){
        if( is_product_category() ) :
            remove_action('woocommerce_archive_description', 'woocommerce_taxonomy_archive_description', 10 );
            add_action( 'woocommerce_after_main_content', 'woocommerce_taxonomy_archive_description', 5 );
        endif;
    }

    To no avail.

    Does anyone have an idea on how to tackle this?

    Best Regards,

    Bas

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in!

    To override the product archive page or product details page, please copy the templates/product folder into your child theme and change the product layout files in there.

    For example, you can change the layout-sidebar-left to add description into the product archive sidebar left layout.

    Hope this helps,
    Danny
