Wondering if there’s a way to add a hyperlink for each portfolio category?
Now all the categories in my portfolio are under one link: http://ikreker.com/my-works/

    I’m looking a way to have the following: http://ikreker.com/my-works/events; http://ikreker.com/my-works/landscape; http://ikreker.com/my-works/family etc.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for writing in!

Actually, you can add your portfolio categories link to menu as in the screenshot here:

Or you can add specific pages “Events”, “Landscape” & “Family” (with parent page is “my-work”) using the Portfolio element for each category as in the screenshot here:

    Hope this helps,
    Danny

    Hi Danny,

It helped somehow, but something doesn’t work.

I added Events and Family pages under Portfolio page, and it shows okay in preview but when I go to a website it shows 404 page.

I also didn’t see Portfolio categories at Appearance > Menu, looks like it doesn’t exist there.

Please see the link below for the screenshots.

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your info!

    1. Since your portfolio slug is “portfolio” => the 404 page may caused by WordPress consider the link “portfolio/events” is a portfolio item, but not a page, so you can try to change the parent page of Events and Family is “Portfolios”, slug is “portfolios”

    2. Please make sure you have activate the portfolio categories links in your Appearances > Menus, as in the screenshot here:

If the problem persists, please share us the admin account of your site via private reply so we can investigate your case and help you out.

    Hi Danny,

It works, thank you very much!

    One more thing.

How recommended, I changed the portfolio slug, named it ‘works’, and added portfolio categories to the submenu under Portfolio page. It works fine, however, I’ve found another issue.

Now, when I choose a portfolio category from the submenu, I only can see the chosen category (for example ‘Landscape’) and it doesn’t show up any other categories.

Wondering if there’s any way to fix it so I can navigate to other categories from the chosen one only by using the tabs on top?

    Hi there,

    Thanks for your info!

Regretfully, if you select a category, you can only see the items from this category. In this case, you’ll need to disable the portfolio Filter button in category-page so that you don’t see other category button in a specific category-page.

It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. We’ll consider to add this feature as an option in the next theme updates.

Thanks for your understanding. Take care!
