I would like the blog overview page to always use images of the same size. So fixed height and fixed width. Also all images should be horizontal and not vertical. How can I best implement this?
I use the Grid 3 Columns

Thanks for your info!
I’ve checked your site and the problem was caused by the default horizontal image size in Wanium theme is 600 x 450 pixel, but some of your original images size is smaller than 600 width or 450 height, so the images can’t be same size.
If you don’t want to upload bigger images, please follow the steps here to fix this issue:
1. Open up the stetup.php file in themes/wanium/inc folder, find the code below (line 71) :
add_image_size( 'wanium_grid', 600, 450, true );
… and change it into this:
add_image_size( 'wanium_grid', 400, 300, true );
2. Install & activate this plugin to regenerate your blog images with new horizontal size (400 x 300). https://wordpress.org/plugins/regenerate-thumbnails/
Please let me know if it work for you or not.
P.S: I recommend you to upload bigger images so we don’t need to modify the code, but if you don’t want it, please just follow 2 steps above and use a child-theme so that your changes won’t be lost on theme updates.
Hope this helps,

I can use that.
But can I specify for portrait images that only a landscape preview image – i.e. a section of the portrait image – is displayed?
With this I would like to achieve that all images in the news overview are of the same size and therefore look more orderly.
If this is not possible, I have to save a section of the image as landscape.January 28, 2020 at 8:08 pm #9533
Regretfully this isn’t a feature offered by the theme. It could be possible with custom development, but this would be outside the scope of support we can offer. In this case, I recommend you to use bigger images to have same image sizes as you wish. Otherwise, you’ll need to use Masonry layout to have difference image layouts.
Thanks for your understanding. Take care!
